Having finished my new guidebook for the Camino de Santiago, I’m excited to have just submitted for publication the first two volumes of a new edition of Cicerone’s guide to the Via Francigena. Originally authored by pioneering pilgrim Alison Raju, this updated guide will encompass the entire Canterbury to Rome route in three volumes — 1. Canterbury to Lausanne, 2. Lausanne to Lucca, 3. Lucca to Rome. In production now are Volume 3 and Volume 2 — Lausanne to Lucca to Rome, which I’ve walked twice since 2016. In the next two years I’ll walk Canterbury to Lausanne to complete the walking research portion of my work.
